Isaiah Washington isn’t exactly taking his firing from Grey’s Anatomy and the potential implosion of his career well. The unemployed and yet still talking actor has whipped out his deck of how to shift responsibility cards and has decided to plat the race card.

Former “Grey’s Anatomy” star Isaiah Washington talked to Newsweek recently, and he rips the show for firing him because, in part, he’s a black man “with a booming voice.” Actually, let’s let him explain: “It didn’t help me on the set that I was a black man who wasn’t a mush-mouth Negro walking around with his head in his hands all the time.”

Oh, and it doesn’t stop there. Isaiah says an HR person told him that “some people” were “afraid” of him around the studio, to which he replied, “Why, because I’m a 6-foot-1 black man with dark skin and who doesn’t go around saying ‘Yessah, massa’ and ‘No sir, massa’ to everyone?”

Holy Kunte Kinte, Batman! Dude, maybe people were afraid of you because you were throwing down with Patrick Dempsey and calling the gay guy a nasty name. Race has nothing to do with it…a bad temper and the inherent inability to keep your mouth shut does.

But just our curiosity, in a showdown between racism and homophpbia, which oppressed minority wins? Gee, let me check the cast list for Grey’s this fall.

Isaiah Washington is still raging mad that his homophobic ass was kicked off Grey’s Anatomy and he’s firing back. The slur slinging and former television heart surgeon is saying that ABC execs fired the wrong guy and that if anyone should be holding the “will act for food” sign on Hollywood Blvd it’s his recently outed co-star and the object of his misplaced anger TR Knight.

“They fired the wrong guy,” Washington says to the Houston Chronicle. “I have to clear my name. I’m telling everything.” Everything — like the fact that T.R. lied to Ellen DeGeneres when he said that Washington called him “fa***t” to his face. “That’s a lie. I used the word during a disagreement with Patrick. I apologized for that.”

So his big defense is “I didn’t call him a name to his face, I did it behind his back.” Because that is just so much better.

Dr. Burke has left the building. Isaiah Washington has officially been fired from Grey’s Anatomy. Isaiah ran into trouble when he tried to deny calling co-star TR Knight the homophobic f-word by using the homophobic f-word at the Golden Globes. Isaiah then went into rehab (for foot in mouth disease I guess), apologized to the gay community and even did a public service announcement commercial. But all that nicey-nice still wasn’t enough to save his job.

And it has also been announced that TR Knight will be back for another season on the hit show with a big fat pay raise. I’m guessing Isaiah is using a few more nasty words right about now.

While Britney Spears is already back in the spotlight after her manic meltdown and rehab stint, Grey’s Anatomy star and resident homophob Isaiah Washington is still doing penance for his politcally incorrect flub. Isaiah has declined to toss his name into the Emmy Award pile for his work on the hostile work environment medical drama.

After a very public battle with homophobia (he allegedly called castmate T.R. Knight a homophobic term, and then used an anti-gay epithet during an interview at the Golden Globes in January), “Grey’s Anatomy” star Isaiah Washington won’t be submitting his name for an Emmy this year, according to the Daily News. In order to be considered for an award, names had to be submitted by Friday, but, says Washington’s publicist Howard Bragman –- whose job must have been particularly challenging this past year –- Washington’s interested in “the acting, not the awards.” Washington recently attended counseling for his insensitive slurs, and issued an apology.

Not hsi interest is in not losing his job. I’m guessing bowing out of the Emmy’s was just one requirement on the “how to save your job” list he got from ABC. Going to rehab was at the top and I think the next item is “kiss the gay guy’s ass.” Bet Isaiah loves that one.

Now you’ve done it, Isiah Washington. You’ve pissed off Doogie Howser. Neil Patrick Harris is throwing his former MD-ness into the Grey’s Anatomy fray. Harris, who shocked no one when he announced his sexual preference just weeks after TR Knight, has spoken out about Isiah Washington’s politically way incorrect slur.

“T.R. has proven himself to be an incredibly classy, dignified guy,” [Neil Patrick Harris] told me. “I’m impressed that Katherine Heigl said what she said. I was shocked that it all reared its ugly head again.”

Meanwhile, the word from the Grey’s set is that Washington’s problems extend far beyond his affinity for a certain derogatory f-word. Per a source, his behavior has been so “inappropriate and offensive” for so long that producers have often been forced to intervene.

Isiah Washington is letting success go to his head. He has a great role on a hit series, but the man would be smart to remember that he ain’t George Clooney and the road from the Grey’s Anatomy to Bounty commercials can be very short.

Grey’s Anatomy star Isiah Washington got a beat down from the gay community. Less than a week after his cringe inducing f-bomb (not that one, the other one) faux pas at the Golden Globes, he has issued an official apology.

“I apologize to T.R., my colleagues, the fans of the show and especially the lesbian and gay community for using a word that is unacceptable in any context or circumstance. By repeating the word Monday night, I marred what should have been a perfect night for everyone who works on Grey’s Anatomy. I can neither defend nor explain my behavior. I can also no longer deny to myself that there are issues I obviously need to examine within my own soul, and I’ve asked for help.

T.R.’s courage throughout this entire episode speaks to his tremendous character. I hold his talent, and T.R. as a person, in high esteem. I know a mere apology will not end this, and I intend to let my future actions prove my sincerity.”

Isiah is way behind the times. Prejudicial rants followed by forced apologies are so 2006.

Hey, here’s a good way to kill everyone’s buzz after your show wins a Golden Globe…give Grey’s Anatomy star Isiah Washington a microphone.

As the entire cast of gathered in front of the media to enjoy their win, Isiah jumped to the mic to defend himself against rumors that he called TR Knight a nasty name during on on set brawl with Patrick Dempsey. (Did you keep all that straight?)

“No, I did not call T.R. a faggot. Never happened, never happened.”

But why don’t you go ahead and pretty much call him one right to his face and in front of the international press. Very smooth.

And in a move that is sure to make work on the set completely tension free, Grey’s beauty Katherine Heigl has a few words for Isiah.

“I’m going to be really honest right now, he needs to just not speak in public. Period…T.R. is my best friend. I will throw down for that kid.”

So back off dude. Katherine will go ape shit on your homophobic ass. Honestly, I think she could take him. That girl is one hot amazon.
