Another Idol star bites the dust. This time, season 5 contestant, and hotty, Katherine McPhee is now pounding the pavement for a new record deal.

US Magazine says, “I think the industry has seen that unless these artists can churn out strong enough original material, they don’t really have that much traction once we don’t see them on television week after week singing songs we already know and love,” Rollingstone.com editor Caryn Ganz tells Usmagazine.com.

God how will I sleep tonight? Look, it isn’t about singing oldies or being on TV week after week, it’s about having the gumption and foresight to have a sex tape scandal and go to jail for drugs. Take Jessica Sierra for example, no one has forgotten about her. She is always on the blogs.

Katharine McPhee goes Disney

Katharine McPhee and her rumored fiance Nick Cokas were spotted at LAX this past weekend, toting Disney Store bags. Cokas, who is nineteen years McPhee’s senior, is a Broadway actor. The two were first rumored to be engaged in September, but the couple has not confirmed nor denied this. He must be really smart or funny or something because she’s way way way out of his league in the looks department.

Tyra Banks Interviews Katherine McPhee’s Boobs

Leave it to Tyra Bancks to add lesbian groping to her list of ways to try to pull her self-indulgent talk show out of the ratings cellar. While interviewing guest Katherine McPhee, Tyra put a little too much girl into the whole girl talk thing when she reached out and squeezed Katherine’s ta-tas.

And Tyra’s comment on the whole fondling episode:

“I squeezed her boobs and they are real! They’re jiggly and soft.”

Wow, thanks for that bit of news. Maybe the whole sexiness of this is lost on me because I don’t have a penis and a vivid imagination, but can we ditch the ratings stunts now? This month Tyra has pranced around in a swimsuit to prove she isn’t fat, celebrated herself as the pinnacle of achievment for African-American women and groped another woman’s rack. I don’t think Oprah has much to worry about.
