Drew Barrymore is in the mood to do some good. Drew is the latest celeb to get a day job with the United Nations. Drew is the new Ambassador Against Hunger for the United Nations World Food Programme. The Post Chroncile has Drew being all honored and stuff: She says, “I am honoured and humbled to accept this challenging and rewarding assignment. “I can’t think of any issue that is more important than working to see that no schoolchild in this world goes hungry.” I’m all for Drew working to fight hunger. I can’t make fun of her for that. But I can mock the UN for giving her a job called “Ambassador Against Hunger.” As opposed to what, the Ambassador For Hunger? Maybe something got lost in the translation and it actually sounds better in Thai or Hindi or something. |
