John Travolta is all upset that his new movie Hairspray is being targeted by some in the gay community. Seems they’re a little pissed about John playing a “gay icon” when he is such a love me, love my Scientology kind of guy and the gays claim that Scientology is not gay friendly.
Here’s what John has to say about it (from Hollywood.com):
However, Travolta has hit back at critics of his faith and insists he is not even playing a gay icon.
He tells The Scoop, “There is nothing gay in this movie. I’m not playing a gay man.
“Scientology is not homophobic in any way. In fact it’s one of the more tolerant faiths. Anyone’s accepted.”
Nothing gay in hairspray? Dude, did you read the script? And did you notice that you were in drag the whole time? (And the pics below are of John at the Wild Hogs premiere…in totally not gay leather pants).
And sure Scientology accepts everyone. But apparently not kids with autism. And I’ve seen the cost of their self-help sessions, so probably not poor people either.
