CBS News reports today that a suspect in the murder of Jon Benet, the 6-year-old beauty queen who was found beaten and strangled in the basement of her family’s home in Boulder, Colorado, on Dec. 26, 1996, has been aprehended in Thailand. John Mark Karr, a 42-year-old American, is being held in Bangkok on unrelated sex charges, and has been arrested by US federal officers. The man, who was once a schoolteacher and lived in Georgia will be extradited to the United States in the next few days. After The National Enquirer put Jon Benet’s parents thru hell running story after story that claimed that either her mom or dad were the real killers, the arrest of this suspect is a welcomed breakthru in this case. Now let’s hope that he is the actual murderer and not just a random dude that they picked up. |
