Patrick Swayze has cancer

1216.jpg

Very sad news. Patrick Swayze has been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. Reports are now varying. It all started with The Sun and The National Enquirer yesterday which reported that he couldn’t keep down solid foods and that he only has 5 weeks to live. TMZ countered that report later on in the day citing that his publicist said that while the cancer is true, he is responding to treatment.

Here is the report from the National Enquirer.

He received three doses of chemotherapy and the tumor shrank, but less than his doctors had hoped for — and Patrick was told he should prepare for the end.
“He was told he could have two more treatments, but his cancer was not responding. In short - they held out little hope for a cure,” said an insider.

TMZ had this to say this morning.

The actor’s doctor says that he’s “optimistic” about his prognosis, but the reality of course is that less than five percent of pancreatic cancer patients survive more than five years after diagnosis.

We wish Patrick and his family all the best. Always terrible to hear things like this.
