Pete Dohety Still Not in Jail

Chemically preserved rocker Pete Doherty has once again managed to escape jail. Though he was picked up by British cops, they didn’t get him to a judge quick enough so Pete turned loose.

From TMZ:

Doherty had been arrested around 2:30 AM Monday, after performing with his band Babyshambles at a festival. But, according to reports from the UK, Judge Susan Williams had to let him go, saying, “Anyone arrested for a breach of bail must be brought before the court and dealt with in a 24-hour period.”

See, I don’t think the Brits keep accidentally screwing the pooch when it comes to their most famous drug fiend. I think they’re doing it on purpose. They just keep hoping he’ll either overdose or accidentally check into rehab when he can’t find his hotel.
